This is the second full-length release from Anael, a German band playing atmospheric black metal. The sound on this album reminds me of Greek greats like Necromantia -- crisp and clear, yet heavily atmospheric. The vocals are mostly snarled, though there's some clean singing now and again, very tastefully done. Anael's last album was full-on Samael worship, but on this record they've branched out into a sound of their own. There's still plenty of Samael in their slow, deliberate pacing and evil riffing, but there's a lot more variety here.
From the very depths of the German underground, ARCHAIC THORN is anouncing the imminent release of their debut EP called "In Desolate Magnificence" through UNHOLY PROPHECIES. After an outstanding Demo, released back in 2013, the German trio has recorded 4 new tracks + intro of the most pure and deep Nihilistic Death Metal you've heard for quite some time now.
3 years are gone since Tod & Teufel, the last ARROGANZ album came out. Now the time has come to unleash a brandnew beast, entitled simply "PRIMITIV". But no, it doesn't sound primitive or simple, here waiting 6 new songs and with no doubt ARROGANZ' best written material so far. It would be just to easy to call it Death or blackened Death Metal...it's more than this...
Almost a year ago BALMOG recorded what they considered the most ambitious recording of the band: "Pillars Of Salt"
Under this enigmatic title, an introspective journey into the darkest tradition of rock and extreme metal is hidden, near 20 minutes of oppression and mysticism contained in a single track recorded in the damn Moontower Studios under the orders of Javier Félez.
"Leather, Steel & Hell" features 4 newly recorded songs including a cover of SLAYER's "Fight Till Death" plus a bonus compilation of Bloodlust's previous demo releases, "Thrashing Black Devil Worship", "Death Magic Rites" and the "Spell of the Raven Witch" single. 16 tracks in total in a Pro produced CD package. Limited to 300 copies.
BODE PRETO's debut titled "Inverted Blood" finally gets the deserved vinyl treatment through Unholy Prophecies. And we are more than proud about that! This album is nothing but an outstanding manifest of the most pure, evil, dark Blackened Death Metal coming of Southamerican lands. Do you remember those days in the late 80's / early 90's when tapetrading ruled the world? Do you remember the first impact of bands like SARCOFAGO, VULCANO, VON, BLASPHEMY and that kind of bands?
Second full length of this pure old-school Death/Black Metal band from Brazil. A typical Southamerican obscure attack of the most utterly deep darkness. For fans of SARCÓFAGO, VULCANO, VON, IMPALED NAZARENE and the likes. This album will crush all the fucking bones in your body. I warn you!!!!
In 1991, Dark Opera was formed in Lodz, Poland, the very same city in which the band’s compatriots of similar ilk in Pandemonium had united approximately two years earlier. Dark Opera’s first year of existence was plagued by several lineup changes, but it stabilized later that year when the band began to write its own songs and played its first live gig in Lomza. The following April, Dark Opera recorded its first demo, "The Day of Pariah", at Ariadna Studio in Lodz. Originally, this cassette was self-released, but the band was later signed by Carnage Records, who released a second iteration of the tape with alternate artwork. In 1993, the band added a second guitarist and recorded its first and only album, "Calling the Legend", in April of that same year. Like the demo that had preceded it, the album was released by another Polish label, Baron Records, who made it available on cassette format only. Like the aforementioned Pandemonium, Dark Opera’s music was reminiscent of the great Samael and others like Alastis and Taranis, but it also incorporated a somewhat greater influence from both death and doom metal. Nuclear War Now! is proud to be the first to reissue both Dark Opera recordings on vinyl and thus continue its neverending objective of rekindling the great fires once set and then left unattended in the most obscure caverns of the underground.
Second full length from the Swedish masters now re-released by Trauma Records in a nice digipak.
Includes two bonus tracks from old Demo recordings and also comes with a postcard and a sort of poster.
Primitive Black/Death old-school fucking metal!
US black metal veterans DUMAL return with their second full length, "The Confessor" via Vigor Deconstruct and Fólkvangr records.
Very much in similar spirit to the beloved "The Lesser God" debut released in 2017, Dumal continue to master their sound with the same strength and passion with their second full length record. Channeling the riffs and drums of classic melodic black metal bands of Scandinavia and beyond, The album follows a journey of introspection into one's self, time, and space.
Here you have the debut full-length from EVIL, a four-piece black/speed metal band from Tokyo, Japan. Although the band has existed since 2011 and has previously released two demos and a split CD, its output to this point has been largely overlooked. With ?Rites of Evil,? however, its profile is rightfully promised to rise from the obscurity that is due at least in part to its geographic isolation. Including venerable bands such as Bathory, Hellhammer and Slayer in its list of prominent influences that in all span at least three continents and various subsets of first-wave black metal and satanic speed metal, the ones that shine through the most are early Sodom, Sarcofago, and fellow compatriots Sabbat and a certain, notorious Japanese punk metal band.
A unique, nearly-nameless entity from Sweden, FOR create sepulchral black/death metal from uniquely-located, surely-nameless depths. Their Kundaz debut album appeared seemingly out of nowhere in early 2013, and now arrives the Blakaz Asko Hertô 12" MLP via IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS. Devoted to the Germanic black witch Gullveig and her Thursian bloodline of ravenous hordes of wolves and werewolves, the concept of FOR 's music is based upon the sacred bindrune, Ulfhamir, and pursues to invoke the black wolf-spirit within.
Set to be released blasphemously on Christmas Eve 2016, DUNKELHEIT PRODUKTIONEN is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Germany's GOATBLOOD, ?Veneration of Armageddon?. For the past five years, this chains- and bullet-bedecked power-duo have been polluting the metal underground with their belligerent brand of bestial black/death. A handful of demos as well as a split were vomited forth before GOATBLOOD's momentous debut album, ?Adoration of Blasphemy and War?, in 2015. Ever aptly titled, ?Adoration of Blasphemy and War? soundly put the band on the international map, and proved that new, gnarly twists can be made to the rigorous bestial metal template.
Grave Altar is a three piece band from the Midlands and Southwest, United Kingdom who formed in June of 2015. Grave Altar play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of black metal, crust, and thrash within their sound. Since forming in 2015, Grave Altar have released a three song EP titled Awaken, Death! in October of 2016 and a four song EP titled Upon The Altar in March of 2017. Morbid Spell is the band's debut LP, which was released via Cavernous records on March 21st, 2019. On Morbid Spell, Grave Altar offer up ten tracks of ugly, filthy, raw, and brutal as fuck sounding black metal, crust, and thrash. Overall, Morbid Spell makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
This is a collaboration of 2 of Spain's best extreme metal bands. GRAVEYARD (Death Metal) and KÖRGULL THE EXTERMINATOR (Black Thrash Metal). GRAVEYARD contribute with 2 brand new songs, a PARADISE LOST COVER ("Eternal") and a cover of KÖRGULL THE EXTERMINATOR. KÖRGULL THE EXTERMINATOR also feature 2 brand new songs, a 2012 re-recording of "Devoted To Death" and a cover of GRAVEYARD.
In 2013 Doomentia Records released this split in vinyl format. This is the first time ever this release is available in CD format.
Debut full length of this bestial Death/Black Metal band from Argentina. A solid debut of this band reminiscent of Argentine elite band INFERNAL CURSE. When I listen to this stuff I also hear some HELLHAMMER in it. If you like the INFERNAL CURSE stuff you will like this one as well.
Debut full length of this devastating Brazilian Death Metal band from Salvador in Bahia. This is the same band that after this full length, a split in the same year and a short hiatus later changed their moniker into POISONOUS.
UNHOLY PROPHECIES is proud to present INDOCTRINATE's striking debut album, Antilogos: Arcane Transmutation in the Temple of Flesh.
While it would seem that Chile's INDOCTRINATE is a brand-new entity, having no prior public recordings, this power-trio actually rose from the ashes of Sadistik Goathammer, who were founded in 2006 by vocalist/bassist H.O.E.V, the sole original member now active in INDOCTRINATE. The intention with Sadistik Goathammer was not to innovate, but rather to go back to the primitive, bestial sounds of such bands as Sarcofago, Mystifier, Abhorer, Parabellum, Blasphemy, and Conqueror among others. After years of war and lineup changes, Sadistik Goathammer released some demos and splits ? among them, 2008's Goatical Nuclear Order is still considered a very relevant work in the so-called war metal scene, giving the band a renowned reputation in the underground. They opened for legendary bands like Impurity in 2014 and Profanatica in 2017, while the members were also active with other projects in the shadows, like Henosis and Interitvm...
UNHOLY PROPHECIES, in conspiracy with Equinox Discos, is proud to present INSULTERS highly anticipated second album, "Metal Still Means Danger". Aptly fucking titled, "Metal Still Means Danger" is a literal statement of intent from these rude 'n' crude Catalonian bastards. Unrepentantly ugly since the beginning (and to the bitter end, we'd wager), INSULTERS formed in 2008 with the apparent aim to defile and then destroy all in their path. A couple demos and a split came before they accomplished exactly that with their debut album, the also-aptly-titled "We Are the Plague". Released in 2013 by Unholy Prophecies and Equinox Discos, "We Are the Plague" became something of a "sleeper hit" with those lucky few who heard it: INSULTERS offered a refreshingly ribald and gleefully gut-busting hybrid of blackthrash and old-school death metal, with a pinch of rock 'n' roll and even D-beat to be found.
