In 1991, Dark Opera was formed in Lodz, Poland, the very same city in which the band’s compatriots of similar ilk in Pandemonium had united approximately two years earlier. Dark Opera’s first year of existence was plagued by several lineup changes, but it stabilized later that year when the band began to write its own songs and played its first live gig in Lomza. The following April, Dark Opera recorded its first demo, "The Day of Pariah", at Ariadna Studio in Lodz. Originally, this cassette was self-released, but the band was later signed by Carnage Records, who released a second iteration of the tape with alternate artwork. In 1993, the band added a second guitarist and recorded its first and only album, "Calling the Legend", in April of that same year. Like the demo that had preceded it, the album was released by another Polish label, Baron Records, who made it available on cassette format only. Like the aforementioned Pandemonium, Dark Opera’s music was reminiscent of the great Samael and others like Alastis and Taranis, but it also incorporated a somewhat greater influence from both death and doom metal. Nuclear War Now! is proud to be the first to reissue both Dark Opera recordings on vinyl and thus continue its neverending objective of rekindling the great fires once set and then left unattended in the most obscure caverns of the underground.

DEATHRAID was influenced by everything extreme and underground. The song ?Lunatic Souls Domain? is short for LSD. DEATHRAID used to spend the cash earnt from gigs into drugs and alcohol, before playing.

The thematically perfectly realized artwork was created by the italian artist Roberto Toderico (he also created amazing art for SINISTER, PESTILENCE, MEFISTO etc.).

Hailing from Melbourne, HECATOMB formed in 2018 as a duo of guitarist Rick Warkill and vocalist/bassist/drummer Mangressor. Crude and rude, the debut demo "Horrid Invocations" was spit forth as a self-released tape in 2020 - and INVICTUS, renown for finding the wildest and most dangerous acts within underground metal, could not help help but release it on a wider scale.

Indeed, Horrid Invocations is exceedingly deserving of wider recognition, and fucking aptly titled: HECATOMB are the bastard sons of Australia's rich 'n' ribald history of metal extremity. From Slaughter Lord, Sadistik Exekution, and Martire on to GOSPEL OF THE HORNS, VOMITOR, and RAZOR OCCAM, HECATOMB dutifully serve the diabolical blood coursing through this undeniable lineage. Loose and lawless, Horrid Invocations presents one berzerker attack after another, swift and salacious at five songs in 22 minutes, as the duo detonate vulgar malformations of black, death, thrash, and unapologetic METAL. It doesn't relent; it doesn't sound nice; it doesn't care for your comfort. Simply, HECATOMB are maniacs for maniacs: if you don't understand the vernacular, then these Horrid Invocations are NOT for you!

Unearthed in Florida in early 2019 and comprised of past and current members of other impious hordes such as Gnosis and Devastator, Hexorcist summon old-school and blasphemous death metal that may as well fall under the "proto-death metal" category, for their ferocious and relentless approach to the genre harkens back to the mid-to-late '80s, when all things extreme were still boiling in the same malignant cauldron and all boundaries were nothing but a blur that no diehard dweller of the underground gave a damn about. Hexorcist's aural and lyrical offering is uncompromising and exudes utter vileness, leaving no room for absolutely anything that could remotely be considered modern or trendy.

HORRIPILANT delivers "Evil Death Metal" rooted in the late 80s and early 90s style with a critical vision regarding what this genre was and must be.

"Embrace The Obsession" features four compositions of Death Metal transformed into an obsessive paranoia inside the walls of Life, Death, Will and Satan, keeping the blood of the listener embraced during twenty minutes of devilish chastisement, monochrome ecstasy and miserable enchantment.
